 REGULATORY Framework in Rajasthan

The government of Rajasthan has set up Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation (RREC) limited as the state nodal agency for promoting and developing nonconventional energy sources in the state of Rajasthan.

RREC will act as Nodal Agency for single window clearance of the projects for all the clearances and approvals of state level

The National Tariff Policy 2006 mandates each SERC to specify a Renewable Energy Obligation (RPO) by Distribution licensee in a periodic manner. In that regard Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission (RERC) vide its order dated 23rd December 2010 (termed as Renewable Energy Certificate and Renewable Purchase Obligation Compliance Framework, Regulations, 2010) and 1st Amendment on 24th May, 2011 clause No 2 of Notification “No RERC / Secy / Regulation – 86” by Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission (RERC) declares solar RPO for Rajasthan as follows

Since, the state has increasing RPO trajectory, therefore increasing solar capacity will be needed for fulfilling RPO obligations. State has already fulfilled its solar RPO obligation for FY 2011-12.

State Electricity Regulatory Commission has determined the tariff for Various Solar Technologies for projects in the state through state policy. These tariffs are shown below in the table:
