By 2030, solar power to make up 18% of India energy generation

Solar energy is expected to account for 18% of total power generation capacity in India by 2030 from 1% at present, playing a key role in the country’s efforts to achieving 40% installed power capacity from renewable energy. In its recently-submitted Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDC) ahead of the crucial climate change conference in Paris from November 30 to December 11, India has committed to achieving 40% cumulative electric power installed capacity from non-fossil fuel based energy resources by 2030.
