New Delhi: Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited had filed a plea with DERC for adoption of generic tariff for generation of power from its 25kWP solar photo voltaic at their grid substation. It was decided that the tariff for sale of electricity from this would be average pooled power purchase cost of the discom, Rs 14.12/unit The discom would also be entitled to renewable energy certifications (REC) from the in order to meet their annual RPO obligations.
In the initial study of the plea, DERC found the was not entitled for subsidy either in the form of capital subsidy or generation based incentive. “In such a case, the absence of such subsidies, the levelised generic tariff for solar energy would be on a higher side, which will adversely affect consumers. The commission told the discom to go for REC mechanism which is another instrument for promotion of generation of power through renewable energy sources,” said an official.
