NALGONDA: It has been more than three months since Telangana State’s first market godown equipped with cutting-edge solar technology was constructed at Choutuppal in the district. Sadly, the godown is awaiting a formal inauguration by the minister concerned.The state government has decided to construct 330 market yards in the state with an estimated cost of `1,024 crore. The first among them, the Choutuppal Market yard godown was established with a 9-kw solar power plant. The solar power plant was set up as a pilot project, at an estimated cost of `20 lakh. The roof of the godown was fitted with solar panels and the work was completed in February.According to sources, some district TRS leaders and officials are planning to get marketing minister T Harish Rao to inaugurate the godown.When asked about the reason for the long delay in inauguration, Nalgonda district marketing assistant director Aleem refused to comment.
