Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Daimler AG, has significantly increased its reliance on solar power at its Oragadam Plant, near here. Over a fourth of the day time electricity requirement of the plant is now met through solar power. This is possible primarily due to major addition to the plant’s existing photovoltaic installations. Latest technology “At Daimler worldwide, we minimise negative effects from our activities with the help of effective environmental management systems and state-of-the-art technologies. This project is a perfect example of how Daimler Trucks Asia promotes climate protection, conserves valuable resources and contributes to the preservation of a livable environment,” Marc Llistosella, Head, Daimler Trucks Asia, said.
