Samsung India has introduced the ‘world’s first’ refrigerators that run on solar power and a new range of air conditioners with a ‘new digital inverter technology’ at an event here yesterday.
The air conditioners range will consist of 1, 1.5 and 2 tonnes and is priced between Rs 35,900 to 66,600. “Consumers are looking for energy efficient products, and our new range of refrigerators and air-conditioners have been designed to suit their needs,” said, director of Samsung India Electronics, Rishi Suri. “At Samsung, we listen to our consumers and develop meaningful innovations that make their lives better,” he added.
A key feature in the new line of refrigerators is solar power compatibility, which will aid in energy conservation in line with the Indian government’s efforts to promote solar power, said Suri. The digital inverter air conditioner range has been stated to be 43 per cent more efficient than conventional products. Samsung also launched its ‘smart convertible refrigerator’, which it claims to be the first of its kind to run on solar power as well as on home inverter.
