Gujarat Solar Policy


Gujarat is a state in the western part of India. Gujarat has 300-330 sunny days, with solar insolation 5.5-6 (kwh/m2/day). Gujarat declared “Solar power policy 2009”, which has lead Gujarat as one of the leading state in solar energy. It has witnessed solar park installation crossed 700MW by the year 2012.

Gujarat government in 2010 had started the Gandhinagar rooftop solar programme and had approved the installation of rooftop solar panels up to a capacity of 5 MW across the state capital. The aim of program is to promote clean energy and self-sustainability for generation and utilization to encourage public participation of Solar Energy.
