Kerala is a state in the southern part of India. Kerala has 300-330 sunny days, with solar insolation 4.5 – 6 (kwh/m2/day). Kerala declared “Kerala Solar Energy Policy 2013”. Kerala State Electricity Regulatory Commission (KSERC) ordered on June 2014, policy for solar rooftop systems. The policy is named Grid Interactive Distributed Solar Energy Systems.
Metering is based on the net meters installed at the interconnection point of the consumer with the network of the distribution licensees. Minimum size of 1kW capacity and maximum size up to 1MWp (Mega Watt peak).of grid connected roof top project is allowed. The solar energy systems installed under this regulation are allowed for the banking facility.
