GRIHA VERSION 2019 CRITERIA 8. RENEWABLE ENERGY UTILIZATION
The intent of this criterion is to promote the use of renewable energy in the projects and, thereby, reduce the project’s dependency on fuels derived from conventional sources.
Maximum Points: 5
The project can comply with this credit by either installing an on-site or off-site renewable energy system to meet requirements for its interior lighting, HVAC, and domestic hot water systems or by investing in off-site renewable energy projects either by entering into Power Purchase Agreements or purchasing of REC’s.
For complying with this credit the client needs to provide calculations and simulations for on-site or off-site renewable energy generation potential and also proofs in the form of Purchase orders of the system installed at site.
If the client intends to invest in an off-site renewable project then they need to provide PPA’s and REC’s.
