Design of a rooftop solar hybrid system
Solar hybrid systems with battery sotrage are a mor reliable solution to the home owners and commercial building owners. It can be combined with the other sources such as diesel generators. This course teahces the participants on the step by step procedure for designing a solar hybrid system.
The course start with an introduction to the grid connected, off grid and hybrid systems; the course then continue with addressing the issue of a AC coupled and DC coupled solar hybrid system. The course also discuss the optimisation tool such as homer for sizing of a solar PV + Battery + DG set tp meet the requirement of a facility through a case study. The main topics covered in this course are as follows:
- Understanding the grid connected, off grid and hybrid systems
- AC coupled and DC coupled systems
- Sizing of PV modules, battery, and inverter
- System optimisation using Homer
- Energy yield estimation
- Creating the module layout
- Electrical SLD
- Preparing bill of quantity (BOQ)
- Profitability analysis
