Rooftop Solar PPA at CBCNEI

Council of Baptist Churches in North East India (CBCNEI), Mission Compound, Hem Baruah Rd, Pan Bazaar, Guwahati, Assam 781001, India. Council of Baptist Churches in Northeast India is a major Christian denomination of North East India. It is a member of the Asia Pacific Baptist Federation. It is also a member body of the North East India Christian Council, the regional council of the National Council of Churches in India, a non-profit organization .The Council of Baptist Churches in Northeast India has about 1,099,548 members in 5,585 churches.Firstgreen installed a 87.75 kWp solar power plant at CBCNEI roof, which started supplying electricity to the entire CBCNEI campus in May 2019.The plant is expected to generate over 1.06 Lac electricity units to CBCNEI. The Net metering provisions have also been made in the campus to inject the surplus electricity in the grid.The system was designed to meet the life of the project for 25 years.Assam faces high wind speeds hence the system was designed to withstand a highest wind speed of 150 km/hr. The plant used best  best in class technology for PV modules and inverters and other components.

Highlight of 87.75 kWp solar plant

Under the Solar Power Purchase Agreement Firstgreen has installed the solar rooftop system at CBCNEI. Since, in one campus they have 8 connections, initially they want to go for 3 connections depending upon Shadow free rooftop area avaibility. So, they want to install solar for connected load of 55 kW, 38 kW and 18 kW respectively.According to the APDCL Rooftop Solar guideline max. 80 % of connected Load can we Solarize. So, we went for 43.89 kW, 30 kW & 13.86 kW respectively and it owns and operates the system for the PPA tenure.  Firstgreen has signed the PPA for a tenure of 25 years. 

Procedure for Solar Rooftop PPA

Step-1

Finalise the Power Purchase Agreement with the client

The clients signs a 10 years or 25 years power purchase agreement (PPA) with Firstgreen.

Step-2

Installation of Rooftop Solar PV system without no upfront cost

Once the agreement has been signed, Firstgreen will fund and construct the PV system

Step-3

Sale of electricity to the client

After completion, in accordance with the agreement, Firstgreen will sell the client the energy generated on site at the agreed price until the end of the contract.

Step-4

Handover the plant to the building owner

We will handover the solar Plant to the building owner after completion of the PPA tenure.
