LEED Certification of Building 9A/9B

LEED certification first became a goal of the  DLF group for its commercial and retail buildings in early 2011. The DLF group contracted with Firstgreen Consulting to provide the guidance needed to meet the LEED-EBOM certification at the Platinum certification level. Firstgreen Consulting provided consulting services to update all plans, policies, audits, and best practices to meet the current rating system.The 9A and 9B, LEED Platinum Certified buildings are perfectly located in between Forum and DLF Cyber Greens, just off the national highway (NH-8) in Gurugram. The elegant twintower edifice offers the best that is found in contemporary structures across the world. The spectacular complex presents a abundance of futuristic amenities, which together more than meet the demands that an efficient and inspiring work environment asks for. The majestic towers of 1.51 mn sq. ft. spread over two independent buildings comprise of 17 floors each (Ground + 16). The mirrored tower designs offer new generation workspace to corporates, software majors and IT- enabled service companies who are used to jet-setting, global lifestyle. The building is EBOM, constructed and maintained by DLF. The LEED EBOM implementation process  planted  in May 2017. The  project had three month performance period from April 2018 to June 2018 for all credits.

The entire facility has used Energy Star rated Equipments in order to reduce energy demand.

All water fixtures installed in the building are low water consumption.

DLF has done carbon offset by carbon credits to achieve 100% carbon offset for this building

  • Automatically controlled Light Fixtures are used to turn off during after-hour periods.
  • All the lighting fixtures in the building are LED fixtures and no fixture containing mercury is installed in the building.

  • 100 % offsite renewable energy used
  • 53.3% occupant waste diverted from landfill

Procedure for LEED CErtification

Step-1

Registration with USGBC

The building is registered with USGBC green building certification portal

Step-2

Data collection during the performance period

The building data is collected during the performance period related to energy, water, IEQ, Material, and waste management

Step-3

Review of documentation by USGBC

USGBC closely review all the documentation and the credits are awarded as per their norms.

Step-4

Final certification

Once all the review replies are satisfied by the USGBC review team, the building is awarded appropriate certification based on the credits approved.
