LEED Certification of DLF Square

LEED certification first became a goal of the  DLF group for its commercial and retail buildings in early 2011. The DLF group contracted with Firstgreen Consulting to provide the guidance needed to meet the LEED-EBOM certification at the Platinum certification level. Firstgreen Consulting provided consulting services to update all plans, policies, audits, and best practices to meet the current rating system. DLF Square is a landmark in the cityscape of DLF City II, Gurgaon, designed and developed by DLF. It is a true testament to modern architecture and design. Acting as appoint of convergence for style, convenience and utility, DLF Square is located along the NH8 having Gross Floor Area of 4,35,000 sq. ft. DLF Square is a commercial development. The building is EBOM, constructed and maintained by DLF. The LEED EBOM implementation process  planted  in May 2017. The  project had four month performance period from January 2018 to April 2018 for all credits.

The entire facility has used Energy Star rated Equipments in order to reduce energy demand.

All water fixtures installed in the building are low water consumption.

100%Carbon footprint offset

DLF has done carbon offset by carbon credits to achieve 100% carbon offset for this building

  • Reduced 33% of water use through the installation of low flow fixture and dual flush system.
  • Maintains the green area with adaptive plantings covering 24% of the site area and manage 100 % storm water at the site.
  • GHG emission intensity has also aimed to reduce by 4.3% with the implementation of energy saving measures.
  • Automatically controlled Light Fixtures are used to turn off during after-hour periods.
  • All the lighting fixtures in the building are LED fixtures and no fixture containing mercury is installed in the building.
  • Green Cleaning - Sustainable Cleaning Products and Materials Purchased
  • 100 % offsite renewable energy used
  • 53% occupant waste diverted from landfill
  • 34.5% of Sustainable Cleaning Products and Materials are Used

Procedure for LEED CErtification

Step-1

Registration with USGBC

The building is registered with USGBC green building certification portal

Step-2

Data collection during the performance period

The building data is collected during the performance period related to energy, water, IEQ, Material, and waste management

Step-3

Review of documentation by USGBC

USGBC closely review all the documentation and the credits are awarded as per their norms.

Step-4

Final certification

Once all the review replies are satisfied by the USGBC review team, the building is awarded appropriate certification based on the credits approved.
