New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday asked the state governments to clear power sector companies’ dues which are estimated at around Rs. lakh crore. The prime minister regretted that the state governments are yet clear subsidy commitments amounting to Rs.75,000 crores to power companies.
Due to increased demand for electricity, the power sector and power producing companies are experiencing increased electricity production by means of renewable energy sources (RES) and distributed generation (DG). The major issue arises for a common man when their monthly bills pile up. One solution recommended by the government is to utilize solar energy as a substitute.
