WBPDCL to get a 5 MW floating solar plant at its thermal power station

The floating solar plant shall come up at the Santhaldih Thermal Power Station in the Purulia district of West Bengal. Bidders have until April 12 to lodge their interest in its installation and commissioning.

State-owned West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited (WBPDCL) has invited domestic bids to set up a 5 MW grid-connected floating solar plant in its Santhaldih Thermal Power Station in Purulia district.

The plant will come upon a raw water pond.

The work includes design, engineering, manufacture/procurement, supply, erection, testing, commissioning, and five years of comprehensive operation and maintenance.

WBPDCL intends to finance the work with a grant from the government of West Bengal.

To be eligible, the bidder should have executed similar work for grid-connected rooftop and/or ground-mounted and/or floating solar plants having a capacity of at least one 5 MWp or two 2 MWp at a single location during the preceding seven years.

Further, it should have operation and maintenance experience for a minimum of 5 MWp capacity plants or two plants of 2 MWp each.
