IGBC- SA Credit 2: Site Preservation
Encourage retaining the site features to minimise site damage and associated negative environmental
Demonstrate that the project complies with at least one of the site preservation measures.
(1 point for each measure; maximum 2 points):
- Existing Topography / Landscape:
Retain at least 10% of the existing topography / landscape, without any disturbance whatsoever.
- Existing Trees:
Design to integrate trees with new development, so as to preserve 75% of existing trees.
- Natural Rocks:
Retain at least 50% of natural rocks (by surface area), excluding building footprint.
- Site Contour:
Retain site contour to an extent of at least 50% of the site, including building footprint.
Applicable for projects with a slope of 25 percent (ie. 4 to 1 slope) or more.
- Water Bodies and Channels:
Retain 100% of water bodies and channels existing on the site.

Retain Site features
Design so as to retain exiting site features to minimize site damage.
Document the site preservation measures taken on site (mentioned in compliance options) in terms of photographs, drawings, site surveys etc
Give narratives for the site preservation adopted along with the calculations.
This credit is not eligible for exemplary performance.
